Aging Ithacans Project & Exhibition

Aging Ithacans is an ethnographic project that highlights the experiences of elders in Tompkins County at Lifelong and McGraw House. It includes their interviews in conjunction with portraits, where the joy and wisdom that comes with aging will be highlighted. It will focus on amplifying the experiences of a diverse group of individuals, particularly in race, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, etc. This body of work will entail between 20 – 30 life stories for a 3-month exhibition to be featured for November’s First Friday.

I am interested in analyzing and depicting how gravity, life experiences, and expressions make their mark onto our bodies as we age.

This program is made possible (in part or in full) with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant program from the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of the office of the Governor and NYS Legislature, administered by the Community Arts Partnership of Tompkins County. Additional thanks to Lifelong, and McGraw House for supporting this project and making it possible.
